Welcome to Benjamin Franklin Elementary School!
Benjamin Franklin Elementary School is a welcoming place for parents and students. It is your involvement in the school and your child's education that truly makes this a learning community. Working together is how we achieve the best results for all. We welcome your time, efforts and ideas at this school because a strong home/school partnership is the key to your child's success.
Daily, all students should arrive at school between 8:30 – 8:50 a.m. Please adhere closely to these times. There is no supervision for your child prior to 8:30 a.m. Students arriving after 8:55 a.m. will be marked tardy. Upon arriving to school, your child may enjoy breakfast in the cafeteria or some free time out on the playground; weather permitting. When the weather is not cooperating, your child should report to their classroom hallway.
Dismissal begins at 3:20 p.m. except for Thursday when dismissal is at 2:50 p.m. All walkers are expected to be picked up at that time. If the need arises to pick up your child early, please send a note to the teacher that morning. We appreciate your attention to this matter. We have attached the "Dismissal Procedure" form. Please fill-out this form and return it to your child's teacher on the first day of school.
State legislation requires a note from a parent or medical professional within 10 days of a student absence. Our state guidelines only allow for 9 authorized absences for the whole year. Please see the attached policy for your reference.
